Max Minghella is a British filmmaker whose work spans cinema, television, and music, bringing a distinctive visual sensibility and a sharp instinct for performance to everything he creates. The Emmy nominated Minghella has carved out a versatile career as a director, writer, producer, and actor. His feature directorial debut, Teen Spirit, starring Elle Fanning, established his talent for visually arresting, music driven storytelling, while his second feature, Shell, starring Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson, and Kaia Gerber, revealed a darker, more satirical edge. Most recently, he directed two episodes of FX’s The Shards, the Ryan Murphy produced adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, further demonstrating his ability to navigate complex characters and provocative material.
